Book on-line and your reservation will be confirmed immediately

You can book on-line through Havana Homestay, Hostelbookers and Hostelsclub websites and your reservation will be confirmed immediately. Your credit card details must be provided, and will be charged to confirm and guarantee your reservation. The balance is payable upon check-in at the property. With your booking confirmation you will receive all contact details for the reserved accommodation.

Lodging is guaranteed upon arrival

Havana Homestay honours every confirmed reservation. If by any chance we were unable to allocate you in the reserved house, then it would be our responsibility to arrange a suitable alternative lodging of a comparable standard and location, with no extra cost. You can trust to find a guaranteed lodging upon arrival.

Price & Lodging policies

Prices are per room per night. So, the price will be the same for one or for two people. The price only includes accommodation. To do a booking, it’s required a minimum stay of two nights. When staying for more than thirty nights a 10% discount will be applied.

You can check-in at any time, but we need to know in advance the hour of arrival. If you check-out after 6:00 PM it will be applied an extra one-night charge.

Booking in advance & Last minute reservation

Off-season, booking two weeks in advance generally works fine. However, during high-season months: December, January, February, March, and April, we suggest to make your reservation at least one month in advance. Arrival details & Transfer

Once you have cleared customs and collected your luggage, take an official cab to the booked house. The 20 km journey from Havana International Airport to the booked home-stay normally takes about 30 minutes. The average ride to the city costs $25 - 30 CUC.

Inform in advance your arrival details to Havana Homestay. This way your host will be prepared to receive you at home on time.

You must be aware of hustlers, taxi drivers and other people at the airports, bus stations or on the streets, who may offer you cheaper accommodation, transportation services or money exchange. This happens frequently and the services they offer are not legitimate, are of very poor quality and may bring you trouble. Havana Homestay strongly discourages any sort of deals with these solicitors to avoid a dangerous risk for you.

Registration, lodging & Payment

The host will be waiting for you at the house. Upon arrival, the host will register you in the Registration Book by using your passport and Tourist Card or your visa record. Once your registration is done you will pay the total fee of the reservation. This payment must be fulfilled in CUC cash. You can only exchange your currency into CUC after your arrival to Cuba. The CUC daily exchange rate is published in the web site of Banco Metropolitano.

Some owners do not allow Cuban visitors at their homestays. If permitted, the age of the visitors must be over 18 years old and they need to show their ID cards.
Cuban authorities do not allow the traffic or use of narcotics, prostitution, paedophilia, pornography, and sexual tourism. These activities are persecuted and very strongly penalized. None of these activities will be permitted in a homestay accommodation.

Home-cooked meals & Laundry services

After previous accordance, home-cooked meals may be offered at an additional cost. The best and cheapest meal options are obtained in your homestay. Size portions of breakfasts, lunches and dinners will be much larger than in a restaurant and far tastier and healthy. You can expect to pay about $4 -5 CUC for a breakfast and about $10 CUC for a main meal. If you want to have breakfast, lunch or dinner just ask for it! Laundry services are also available for an accessible extra fee.
